Latest COVID-19 patient guidelines from Dr. Maron's dental office
COVID-19 "new normal" patient guidelines as of March 2023
Patients who come to Dr. Maron's office must comply with the following guidelines and changes in routine:
- Do not come to the office if you are showing any signs of illness, such as coughing, sneezing, chills, or fever.
- Do not bring additional people to the office unless you depend on them for transportation or mobility.
- When you arrive at the office, text us or call us if you want to wait in your car until we are ready to bring you into the treatment room. You can also wait in the waiting room, which we have divided into four areas with screens.
- You must wear a mask when entering our office. No one will be allowed to enter without a mask.
- You must maintain social distancing in the office just as you would outside the office. The exception, of course, is when you are being treated, when we take other precautions for your safety.
- Tissue paper dispensers are located outside and inside the office so that you can use the tissue paper to touch door knobs.
- All of our rooms have air purifiers to filter the air.
- When you enter the treatment room, we will ask you to rinse with a molecular iodine solution for 30 seconds and then gargle for 15 seconds more before spitting. This oral rinse is antiviral and antibacterial. For more information on the oral rinse, see "Comparative Analysis of Antiviral Efficacy of Four Different Mouthwashes against Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2: An In Vitro Study" by Herb Moskowitz and Michelle Mendenhall.
- You will also coat your hands with an antiviral and antibacterial molecular iodine solution that will protect you for several hours. For more information on molecular iodine, see IoTech International.
- Our clinical personnel will be wearing masks and face shields and other PPE.
- At the end of your visit, you will go to the check out desks, which now have plexiglass to prevent aerosol transmission. New credit card terminals will only require that you depress a ""Yes" or "No" button with a disinfected pointer stick.
- For your convenience and added safety, we now also offer credit card payment from our website.
We believe that all of these guidelines and routines will ensure a safe environment for our patients and staff.
